An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Agent to join a major coastal infrastructure project in South Devon. This high-profile £12m coastal defence scheme will see significant marine-based construction activity, with a large proportion of works undertaken from the sea in a challenging and environmentally sensitive location.
The successful Site Agent will take ownership of site delivery, coordinating complex operations, managing subcontractors and ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with NEC contractual requirements. This position would also suit an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background and proven success delivering complex infrastructure schemes.

As Site Agent, you will be responsible for overseeing daily project activities while maintaining programme, budget and quality objectives.
Key duties will include:
- Managing day-to-day site operations and construction activities
- Administering NEC contract processes and obligations
- Coordinating marine logistics and construction sequencing
- Supervising subcontractors, suppliers and operational teams
- Driving health, safety and environmental performance across the site
- Working closely with clients, stakeholders and commercial teams
- Ensuring works are delivered on schedule and within budget
- Producing accurate project reports and maintaining site documentation
- Supporting the successful delivery of a technically complex coastal engineering scheme
The ideal Site Agent will bring strong civil engineering experience and the ability to lead teams within challenging project environments.
Requirements include:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience operating as a Site Agent on civil engineering projects
- Strong NEC contract knowledge and practical experience
- Experience within marine, coastal, harbour or Rock Armour projects ESSENTIAL
- Understanding of logistics-intensive construction operations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate site teams
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving capabilities
- £500 – £560 per day PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
