We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance RAMS Writer to support a major civil engineering project based in Teesside.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a large-scale infrastructure scheme. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing high-quality project documentation, ensuring all works are planned safely and comply with current legislation and industry best practice.
The Role:
- Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for civil engineering activities.
- Produce Work Package Plans (WPPs) where required.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Site Agents, Engineers, and Health & Safety teams to gather technical information.
- Ensure all documentation complies with company procedures, client requirements and current health and safety legislation.
- Update and amend RAMS throughout the project lifecycle as works evolve.
- Support the project team with planning and coordination of construction activities.
Requirements:
- Previous experience writing RAMS within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
- Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations and current Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience working on highways, utilities, earthworks, structures, public realm, or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider project team.
Remuneration:
- £350 to £400 per day (dependent on experience)
