We're looking for two Site-Based Electricians to keep two busy university campuses in the Falmouth area safe, compliant and running smoothly. You'll be our electrical presence on site, mostly working independently, with a mix of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs. You'll build good working relationships with the campus facilities team, and you'll have Sherwoods' wider engineering team behind you.
What we offer
- A salary of £35,000 – £42,000, depending on experience and qualifications
- A regular working pattern: 40 hours, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

About the job
- Carrying out PPM and reactive electrical repairs across the campus, right first time and within customer SLAs
- Estimating works, including a full scope and materials list, before submitting to the customer
- Keeping the customer updated at the start, during and at the end of each job
- Recording completed works and follow-ups accurately on our job management system and customer portals
- Supporting compliance audits, making sure they're completed on time
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to order materials and arrange further visits
- Working safely, following our health and safety policies and RAMs at all times
- Looking after your allocated work vehicle, where applicable
What you’ll need
Essential
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment)
- 18th Edition and AM2
- Experience in a commercial or maintenance environment
- Full UK driving licence
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 (or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills, and confidence dealing with people at all levels
- A proactive approach to problem solving, with experience of compiling specifications and workflows
- Strong technical knowledge and a genuine enjoyment of passing on your experience
- Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check
Desirable
- City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
- Project management experience
- Good IT skills
- IOSH health and safety training
