Site Director
Aurora Life Sciences
The Opportunity
This is a senior, site-wide leadership role for a decisive Site Director who can take full ownership of a regulated, high-growth facility and turn strategy into execution. The successful Site Director will lead with pace, pragmatism and visibility, setting clear expectations across operations, manufacturing, quality, safety, people and performance.
This is not a role for a passive administrator. We need a motivated, articulate and commercially focused leader who can make informed decisions, challenge constructively and create accountability at every level.
The Mandate
The Site Director will act as the general manager of the facility, with responsibility for safe, compliant and commercially effective operations. You will establish the operating rhythm, translate corporate objectives into measurable site priorities and ensure leadership teams deliver against them.
You will take executive ownership of the site budget, capital plan, capacity, infrastructure and manufacturing performance. Working across direct and matrix reporting lines, the Site Director will align functional leaders, remove ambiguity and ensure that ownership never falls between organisational structures.
Leadership Priorities
- Lead site-wide operations with a safety-first, quality-led mindset.
- Build a disciplined, high-performing leadership team with clear accountability.
- Drive manufacturing output, capacity, yield, cost, delivery and continuous improvement.
- Establish meaningful KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, cost and people.
- Use data to identify risk early, accelerate decisions and drive practical improvement.
- Own workforce planning, succession, capability development and organisational design.
- Maintain audit readiness and compliance with ISO 13485, FDA requirements and applicable EHS standards.
- Build strong relationships with corporate functions while protecting site-level execution.
- Lead operations budget management, capital planning and vendor performance.
- Create scalable manufacturing systems that support commercial growth without unnecessary bureaucracy.
The successful Site Director will bring structure without slowing the business down. You will understand regulated manufacturing, but you will also know when to be pragmatic, when to escalate and when to make the call.
You will improve the discipline of operations, strengthen leadership capability and create a culture where problems are surfaced early and solved properly. You will be expected to communicate confidently from the production floor to executive leadership and the Board.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including significant site, plant or general management responsibility.
- Strong background in Medical Device or Lifescience manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA quality requirements, validation, CAPA, change control and lean improvement.
- Experience scaling operations in a commercially growing environment.
- Strong financial acumen, including operating budgets and capital expenditure.
- Proven success leading through matrix structures and organisational change.
- Executive-level communication, judgement and decision-making capability.
This Site Director appointment requires visible, focused leadership. The mandate is clear: strengthen operations, scale manufacturing, raise accountability and build a site capable of delivering the next phase of growth.
The right leader will be pragmatic, motivated, articulate and relentless about execution.
