We are currently looking for a Site Engineer to join the SWMEW Project. This is a facility to provide interim storage of SIXEP and SCP secondary waste, with the capability to feed a future waste product management treatment plant (WPMTP). SWMRF has just submitted its Feasibility Stage deliverables which included possible baseline building footprints for three alternative technology options (footprints developed by Mechanical / Process disciplines).
The role is to act as the direct interface between the design office and the construction site, ensuring that design intent is correctly interpreted, implemented and maintained throughout the construction phase. The role provides technical interpretation of design, real-time problem resolution and feedback loops that allow the design team to adjust, clarify or correct information based on site conditions.
As a Site Engineer some of your responsibilities could include:
- Interpret drawings, specifications and design documents for site teams ensuring correct understanding of design intent.
- Ensure that technical clarifications, design responses and controlled updates from the design team(s) are understood by construction for correct implementation.
- Support the project in delivering a high standard of environmental and waste management, including by conducting weekly site inspections.
- Coordinate design responses to minimise delays in construction while maintaining safety and compliance.
- Have an awareness of all Plant Modifications Proposals (PMP) and their impact upon construction activities.
- Provide structured feedback to the design teams for design improvements, lessons learned (LFE) and future project optimisation.
As a Site Engineer you will already have:
- An Engineering qualification (for example BEng, BSc, HND, HNC)
- Experience of working in live construction environments with good understanding of applicable Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations.
- Understanding and experience of relevant legislation, standards, and procedures relevant to highly regulated industry.
