Site Engineer

My Main Contracting client is seeking a Site Engineer for a project in Stratford. 

Site hours are Mon – Friday 7am – 6pm and Saturdays 7.30 -1pm

Duties and responsibilities include the below

• Be proactive in ensuring works are constructed to design specification and within project timelines.
• Ability to plan work activities by devising short term programmes and coordinating with subcontractors
• Conduct quality control of works being done and raise NCRs where applicable to ensure improvement of works including the use of digital quality platforms to manage quality check sheets of subbies
• reviewing ITPs of subcontractors and ensuring the subcontractor ensure quality compliance by satisfying the IMS quality audit requirements.
• Undertake site surveys and flag inconsistencies to the design team
• Be familiar with EDM TS16 and be able to undertake site instrumentation calibration checks. Also chase subcontractors to ensure equipment being used have an in-date calibration certificates
• Management of concrete workbook and keeping a close eye on concrete pour ensuring workability tests are taken and meet design standards ie. Slump test done to ensure the right consistency of concrete on the delivery ticket and design mix are within tolerance
• Checking rebar and conducting pre pour inspections. Also, being proactive to arrange third parties to witness and address issues flagged where possible in a timely manner.
• Establish station controls and ensure construction works are undertaken within tolerances.
• Raise RFIs for design and buildability queries
• Be familiar and have knowledge on multiple work packages – predominantly external works and steel/concrete frame and a bit of internal.
• Adept at the use of AutoCAD to overlay as built survey information as well as look out for possible design clashes and raising with design consultants.
• Manage site diaries and report any potential project disruptions/devise mitigation strategies
