An award-winning building contractor with over 50 years of success is looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a varied portfolio of projects across Greater Manchester and the Northwest.
With a reputation built on quality and long-term client relationships, this employee-owned business delivers a diverse mix of new build and refurbishment projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, residential, industrial and community sectors. They continue to secure work through long-standing framework agreements and repeat business with local authorities, housing associations and public sector clients, providing a strong pipeline of projects across the region.
Projects typically range from £500,000 to £8 million, giving engineers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio while building a long-term career with a contractor known for investing in its people.
The Role
Working alongside the Site teams, you'll provide engineering support across live projects, ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely and in line with programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting out for a variety of building projects.
- Carrying out site surveys and maintaining accurate records.
- Interpreting drawings and resolving technical queries with the design team.
- Checking line, level and dimensional control throughout construction.
- Producing as-built information and quality records.
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works meet specification.
- Supporting the delivery of high health and safety standards on site.
- On some projects, supervising the groundworks phase, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme before progressing into the main build.
What They're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer with a main contractor.
- Experience delivering new build and refurbishment projects.
- Strong setting out skills using total station and GPS equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills when working with site teams, subcontractors and consultants.
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS or SSSTS would be advantageous.
