Site Engineer

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major section of the HS2 project in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a leading Tier 1 contractor on a flagship civil engineering scheme delivering complex infrastructure works.

As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of construction activities across a range of civil engineering works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

• Setting out and surveying works in accordance with design drawings and specifications.
• Managing and maintaining site records, QA documentation, and as-built information.
• Supporting the Site and Section Engineers in the delivery of daily construction activities.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, designers, and project stakeholders.
• Monitoring progress against programme and reporting on site activities.
• Assisting with temporary works, permits, inspections, and engineering controls.
• Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure projects
• Experience in one or more of the following Earthworks, Highways, Structures, Drainage, Utilities
• Strong setting out experience using Leica, Trimble, or similar equipment
• CSCS Card
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
