Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with an international supplier of heavy material handling equipment who are looking to employ a shift maintenance technician to work on a customer site in Belfast. Responsibilities
- Servicing a fleet of heavy material handling equipment to include cranes, terminal tractors and straddle carriers at a site in Belfast Port
- Performing preventative electrical, mechanical and hydraulic maintenance as well as repairing equipment when failure occurs
- Ensuring maintenance complies with health & safety legislation
- Developing a knowledge of a wide variety of equipment within a technically developing fleet
- Reporting to the Service Manager to ensure all equipment servicing is carried out efficiently
Requirements
The company have a preference for an individual from a crane, forklift or heavy plant background. It is also essential that you hold electrical and mechanical qualifications and ideally have experience of carrying out diagnostics on electrical system. The role is physically demanding and requires the individual to be prepared for this. The shift patterns rotate each week on day shift patterns however there may be an expectation to work night shifts to cover holidays on occasion. In terms of location, you will need to be within commutable distance of Belfast Port.

- Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday
- Week 2 – Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday
