About the Role

Our client are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join their growing team delivering a range of civil engineering projects in Hunterston. Working as part of an established civil engineering contractor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of groundworks, roads, drainage, and sewer infrastructure projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out works in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Managing and maintaining accurate site records, including QA documentation and as-built information.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors, clients, and design teams.
• Carrying out surveys and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Monitoring progress and reporting on project performance.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Identifying and resolving engineering and technical issues on site.
• Supporting the commercial and project management teams with progress records and measurements.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience working as a Site Engineer within the civil engineering sector.
• Proven experience delivering groundworks, roads, drainage, and sewer projects.
• Proficiency in setting out using GPS and robotic total station equipment.
• A good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quality assurance processes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative site team.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience using surveying equipment and engineering software.

Desirable

• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
• First Aid at Work.
• Temporary Works awareness.
• Experience working on infrastructure or utilities projects.
