Freelance Site Engineer (Short-Term Contract)


Location: Buckinghamshire / Milton Keynes
Contract Type: Inside IR35 - 2-3 Month Contract



Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to support ongoing civil engineering works on a short-term basis. This role will focus on setting out and supporting delivery across drainage, earthworks, and general civils packages.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out accurate setting out for drainage, earthworks, and civils works
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with design specifications and quality standards
  • Liaise effectively with site teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Communicate clearly with multiple teams and site representatives
  • Support day-to-day engineering duties and site reporting


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering projects
  • Strong competency in setting out (drainage, earthworks, civils)
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced site environment


Desirable

  • Previous experience on HS2 or major infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with Novade or similar digital construction tools
