We are currently working with a leading Tier 1 main contractor who are looking to strengthen their project team with an experienced Site Engineer for a major new-build commercial office development in the London Bridge area.
The project is currently at an early stage, providing an excellent opportunity to join the team from the outset and play a key role in the delivery of a prestigious £100m+ development.
The project will involve complex structural works, including concrete slip-form construction and a structural steel frame, making this an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer with a strong structural and engineering background.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will provide technical and engineering support across the project, working closely with the Site Management and Project Management teams to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and in accordance with the programme, drawings and specifications.
You will have significant involvement in the structural elements of the project, including setting out and quality control for the concrete and steel frame packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying structural works.
- Providing engineering support for concrete slip-form and structural steel activities.
- Checking drawings, specifications and technical information.
- Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring works meet the required standards and tolerances.
- Completing site measurements, surveys and as-built information.
- Working closely with subcontractors to ensure works are delivered correctly.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
- Ensuring construction activities are delivered in accordance with project specifications.
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of upcoming works.
- Maintaining accurate site records, inspection documentation and quality records
- Experienced Site Engineer with a strong civil engineering or construction background.
- Proven experience working on major new-build projects.
- Previous experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor is highly desirable.
- Strong structural experience, ideally with exposure to reinforced concrete, slip-form construction and/or structural steel.
- Confident with setting out, surveying and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, specifications and quality requirements.
- Able to identify and resolve technical and engineering issues on site.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with Site Managers, subcontractors, consultants and the wider project team.
- Relevant Civil Engineering or Construction qualification.
- CSCS and relevant engineering/surveying qualifications.
- Ambitious and keen to play a key role in the delivery of a £100m+ landmark commercial development in Central London.
