An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Engineer to join one of the UK's leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractors, working across a long-term water infrastructure framework covering Kent, Sussex and Hampshire.

As Site Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of multiple projects across the Southern Water region. Working closely with Site Agents, Project Managers and the wider delivery team, you'll be responsible for establishing survey control, setting out works in accordance with contract drawings, maintaining accurate engineering records and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include setting out works using Robotic Total Stations and EDM equipment, preparing Inspection & Test Plans, producing Task Briefings, Site Diaries and Allocation Sheets, preparing procurement schedules, coordinating with procurement and site teams, assisting with two-week look-ahead programmes, resolving technical issues on site, maintaining quality records and drawing registers, monitoring compliance with engineering specifications, supporting health, safety and environmental objectives, identifying value engineering opportunities and contributing towards the successful handover of completed works.
To be considered, you'll have previous experience setting out on civil engineering projects together with a Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. You should be fully conversant in the use of Robotic Total Stations and modern surveying equipment, possess a sound understanding of construction methods, health and safety legislation and engineering best practice, and be an excellent communicator who enjoys working collaboratively within a project team. A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
Candidates holding additional qualifications such as AutoCAD, CSCS, EUSR, Temporary Works, Cable Avoidance Training, First Aid or IOSH will be at a distinct advantage, although ongoing training and development is available for the right individual.
In return, our client is offering a basic salary of £37,000 - £45,000, together with a comprehensive benefits package including a company vehicle or car allowance, private medical insurance, company pension, life assurance, 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, flexible benefits, employee assistance programme and continuous technical and leadership training.
