Site Engineer

We're currently looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure project in Cambridge.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile scheme with a well-established contractor, offering competitive day rates and an immediate start.

Location: Cambridge
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £300–£400 per day 

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out for highways and civil engineering works.
• Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records.
• Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and the client.
• Carrying out quality assurance checks and ensuring compliance with project standards.
• Supporting the delivery of works safely, on time, and within budget.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major civil engineering projects.
• Proficient in setting out using GPS and total station equipment.
• Strong understanding of QA procedures and as-built records.
• CSCS card essential.
• Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or similar).
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
