The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established construction and refurbishment contractor with a strong reputation for delivering projects across the education, healthcare, commercial, residential, and public sectors throughout the South West.
The business is known for delivering high-quality new build, refurbishment, maintenance, and fit out projects, building long-standing relationships with clients through collaborative working, excellent service, and a commitment to quality and safety.
This opportunity is to work on a fast-paced, busy project within a major university environment in Bristol. The project requires an organised and proactive Site Manager who can manage multiple work streams and maintain programme performance within a live operational setting.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
You will coordinate subcontractors, manage site logistics, maintain health and safety compliance, and act as the key point of contact between the site team, client representatives, and project stakeholders. This role would suit someone who thrives in busy environments and is comfortable managing complex refurbishment and construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day site operations and programme delivery.
Coordinate subcontractors, labour, materials, and plant.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Manage site logistics and activities within a live university environment.
Monitor progress against programme and drive project milestones.
Undertake quality inspections, snagging, and handover procedures.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams.
Ensure all site documentation, permits, RAMS, and reports are maintained accurately.
Lead site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Site Manager on education, commercial, refurbishment, or fit out projects.
Experience managing fast-paced construction projects within live environments.
Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and work streams simultaneously.
Proactive, hands-on approach to programme and site management.
