We’re partnered with an established Essex-based main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering commercial, refurbishment, education, healthcare and residential projects across the region.

Due to continued growth, they’re looking for an experienced Site Foreman / Working Foreman to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of projects across Essex.

This is a hands-on site leadership role for someone who has come from the tools, progressed into a supervisory position and still enjoys being involved in the work.

You’ll be leading trades and subcontractors, keeping projects moving and ensuring work is delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard acting as the key person on site, coordinating the workforce and subcontractors while working closely with the wider management team to keep projects running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Running the dayto-day activities on site
• Leading and coordinating trades, site operatives and subcontractors
• Allocating work and keeping the site team productive
• Ensuring work is completed safely, correctly and on programme
• Monitoring workmanship and maintaining highquality standards
• Coordinating materials, deliveries and site requirements
• Overseeing toolbox talks, RAMS and general site procedures
• Identifying and resolving issues on site as they arise
• Liaising with Site Managers, Contracts Managers, clients and subcontractors
• Providing updates on progress, labour, materials and any potential delays
• Supporting programme delivery and keeping projects moving
• Getting handson and involved in the work when required

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Site Foreman, Working Foreman, General Foreman or Site Supervisor
• Strong trade background, having progressed from the tools into a supervisory role
• SMSTS – essential
• Good understanding of construction health & safety and site procedures
• Proven experience managing trades and subcontractors
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Practical, reliable and handson approach
• Ability to lead a team and take ownership of site activity
• Full UK driving licence
• Trade backgrounds including carpentry, brickwork, groundworks, roofing, plastering, drylining or similar would be well suited.

The Opportunity

This isn't a desk-based supervisory position. We're looking for a Working Foreman who leads from the front - someone who knows construction from the ground up, can manage a team, coordinate multiple trades and isn't afraid to get stuck in when the job demands it.
