Site HSE Advisor

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site HSE Advisor to join a major carbon capture project in Teesside on an initial 12-month contract.
Working as part of the project HSE team, you will report to the Field HSE Manager and play a key role in supporting the effective implementation, management and continual improvement of the HSE management system throughout the engineering and development phases of the project.
Key Responsibilities
As Site HSE Advisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting a strong HSE culture through workforce engagement, communication and training.
- Carrying out regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards and procedures.
- Monitoring subcontractor HSE performance and ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
- Ensuring plant, machinery and equipment comply with relevant safety requirements.
- Supporting the development and review of risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and safe systems of work.
- Monitoring and overseeing Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Supporting the management and control of hazardous materials and substances on site.
- Reporting HSE performance and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Supporting incident, accident and near-miss investigations, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Promoting environmental compliance and sustainable working practices across the project.
- Providing proactive HSE advice and support to site management, employees and contractors.
We are looking for an experienced HSE professional with a strong background in the Oil & Gas industry, ideally with experience working on onshore projects and construction environments.
You will ideally have:
- A relevant qualification in HSE, Health & Safety or an engineering-related discipline.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional qualification.
- Several years' experience working within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience working on onshore projects, including construction activities and design/regulatory requirements.
- Experience in HSE inspections, investigations, surveys and incident management.
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work proactively and effectively in a busy project environment.
