Location: Glasgow (Queenslie)
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Contract: Temp to Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
Start Date: Immediate



The Opportunity

Our client, a leading UK provider of testing, inspection and compliance services, is looking to recruit a Site / Laboratory Technician to join its Materials Testing team in Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career within the construction and infrastructure sector. Full training will be provided, making this role suitable for candidates with little or no direct industry experience who can demonstrate strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and good problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will work across both laboratory and site-based activities, supporting the testing and analysis of construction materials used on major infrastructure and building projects.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out testing of concrete, aggregates and other construction materials.
  • Prepare, handle and assess concrete cube samples in accordance with established testing procedures.
  • Record and maintain accurate testing data using internal computer systems.
  • Book samples into the laboratory management system.
  • Support site technicians with sampling activities on customer sites when required.
  • Follow strict quality, health and safety, and operating procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure work areas remain clean and organised.
  • Work closely with experienced technicians and laboratory staff as part of an established team.


What We're Looking For

Previous materials testing experience would be advantageous but is not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A practical hands-on approach.
  • Basic IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
  • The ability to follow procedures and work accurately.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.


Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience within construction, manufacturing, engineering, laboratory or technical environments.
  • A scientific, engineering or technical qualification.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
