Site Labourer

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Commercial Site Labourer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day operations of a commercial construction site, ensuring work areas are maintained safely and efficiently while supporting tradespeople and site management as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting skilled tradespeople with construction activities.
• Loading, unloading, and moving construction materials around the site.
• Maintaining site cleanliness and ensuring work areas remain tidy and hazard-free.
• Carrying out general labouring duties, including digging, lifting, and manual handling.
• Assisting with site setup, fencing, barriers, and signage.
• Operating basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Removing waste materials and disposing of them in designated areas.
• Supporting deliveries and checking materials received on site.
• Following all health and safety procedures, site rules, and company policies.
• Reporting hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions to site management.
• Assisting with traffic management and pedestrian safety where required.
• Undertaking additional duties as directed by the Site Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements

Essential

• Previous experience working on a construction or commercial building site.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to carry out physically demanding work.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.

Desirable

• Manual Handling certification.
• Traffic Marshal/Banksman qualification.
• First Aid certification.
• Experience using construction tools and equipment.
• Relevant plant operator tickets (e.g., Dumper, Roller, Telehandler).
