Site Maintenance Operative

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance duties, ensuring buildings and facilities are maintained to a high standard. This is a hands-on role requiring a skilled multi-trade operative with experience in general building maintenance, particularly plastering, carpentry, decorating, and general repairs.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and professional team within a respected organisation. The expected pay rate for the role is between £16.00 - £17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carrying out general building repairs and maintenance across the site.
- Completing plastering, carpentry, decorating, and other multi-trade maintenance tasks.
- Responding promptly to planned and reactive maintenance requests.
- Supporting the Maintenance Manager with a variety of repair and maintenance projects.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Operating tools and equipment safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
- Undertaking manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving equipment and materials where required.
- Responding appropriately to emergency maintenance situations.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Supporting colleagues and providing cover where required.
- Have previous experience working as a Maintenance Operative, Multi-Trade Operative, or Building Maintenance Technician.
- Hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in a relevant trade, with plastering being essential.
- Have experience in carpentry, decorating, and general building maintenance.
- Be physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties.
- Be able to work independently and use their own initiative.
- Demonstrate a mature, reliable, and professional approach to work.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Have a good understanding of health and safety procedures.
