Site Manager in Derby, Derbyshire

Location: Derby, Derbyshire
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

An established UK construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join its team in Derby.

This is an opportunity to work on medium to large-scale construction projects, taking responsibility for the safe, high-quality delivery of works while ensuring programme, commercial and quality requirements are maintained.

Working as part of the project delivery team, you will take responsibility for day-to-day site operations and the management of subcontractors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating subcontractors in line with the project programme

• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance

• Monitoring quality and raising NCRs where required

• Managing inspection and test plans (ITPs), snagging and close-out

• Issuing and closing permits for site activities

• Coordinating material and equipment requirements

• Working closely with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor

• Assisting with utilities, highways and temporary works requirements

• Producing and managing short-term programmes

• Ensuring subcontractor RAMS and site documentation are appropriate and in place

• Supporting the successful delivery of projects to programme and budget

You will have a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects and experience within one or more of the following sectors:

Commercial | Retail | Healthcare | Education | Refurbishment | New Build

You should be comfortable managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work packages while maintaining control of programme, safety and quality.

• Previous Site Manager experience within construction

• SMSTS

• Valid CSCS/CSR card

• Strong subcontractor management experience

• Good understanding of health & safety and CDM requirements

• Experience working to construction programmes

Experience with temporary works procedures and producing short-term programmes is particularly relevant.

• Temporary Works Coordinator experience
