Site Manager – New Build Commercial Offices

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a strong and well-established Tier 2 Main Contractor following a number of significant new project wins across London.

The business has secured an impressive pipeline of new-build commercial office projects and is looking to strengthen its operational team with a proven Site Manager who has experience delivering similar schemes for reputable main contractors.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced project team, the Site Manager will take responsibility for key elements of the construction programme, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing day-to-day site operations and subcontractors
• Taking responsibility for specific packages and areas of the build
• Driving programme and ensuring key milestones are achieved
• Coordinating subcontractors and managing interfaces between trades
• Monitoring quality and ensuring works meet project specifications
• Maintaining high standards of health & safety
• Reviewing RAMS and ensuring works are carried out correctly
• Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team
• Attending progress and coordination meetings
• Identifying potential issues early and helping drive solutions on site

The Candidate

This role requires someone with genuine new-build experience who can demonstrate a strong employment history with reputable main contractors.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager for a main contractor
• A strong background delivering new-build construction projects
• Experience on commercial office schemes or projects of a similar scale and complexity
• Experience managing subcontract packages through to completion
• Strong technical and construction knowledge
• The ability to drive programme, quality and health & safety
• Excellent communication and subcontractor management skills
• A stable and credible main contracting background

This position would particularly suit a Site Manager who has worked within a Tier 1 or strong Tier 2 main contractor environment and understands the standards expected when delivering major London projects.
