Site Manager - Commercial Office Fit-Out

Location: London & South East
Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum + Benefits

Our client is a well-established design and build contractor specialising in the delivery of high-quality commercial office fit-out and refurbishment projects across London and the South East.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join their delivery team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong background in commercial office fit-out, looking to join an established contractor with a strong reputation, repeat client base and a growing portfolio of projects.



The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of commercial office fit-out and refurbishment projects on site.

You will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and trades, managing site activities, maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and quality, and ensuring works are delivered in line with the agreed programme.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, client, consultants, subcontractors and wider project team to ensure the successful delivery of each project from mobilisation through to completion and handover.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of commercial office fit-out and refurbishment projects.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, trades and site-based teams to ensure works are delivered efficiently.

  • Ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with the project programme.

  • Monitor progress on site and identify potential delays or issues at an early stage.

  • Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, materials and labour requirements.

  • Liaise closely with the Project Manager, client, consultants and subcontractors.

  • Attend and contribute to site and project meetings.

  • Manage and coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure works are completed to the required standards.

  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety across the site.

  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

  • Monitor workmanship and ensure defects are identified and rectified promptly.

  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning and snagging activities.

  • Assist with the management of project variations and site instructions.

  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress updates and relevant documentation.

  • Manage the site through to practical completion and handover.

  • Promote a professional, safe and collaborative working environment.



Skills & Experience



Essential

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within the commercial office fit-out sector.

  • Strong experience delivering CAT A and/or CAT B office fit-out projects.

  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades on site.

  • Strong understanding of construction programmes and sequencing.

  • Experience working within live or occupied environments.

  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and site procedures.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage site activities effectively and work to tight deadlines.

  • SMSTS - essential.

  • CSCS Black Card - essential.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.



Desirable

  • Experience working for a design and build contractor.

  • Experience delivering projects within London and the wider South East.

  • First Aid qualification.

  • Strong understanding of commercial office finishes, M&E coordination and detailed fit-out works.

  • Experience working on projects from mobilisation through to practical completion and handover.
