We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN) project in Galashiels involving high-voltage (HV) cable installation, jointing, and termination works. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinating subcontractors and direct labour, and maintaining programme delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience managing HV cable projects and associated termination works is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations for HV cabling and termination activities.
- Ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
- Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
- Monitor programme progress and identify potential delays or risks.
- Ensure compliance with SPEN procedures, industry regulations, and company standards.
- Review and manage RAMS, permits, and site documentation.
- Oversee quality assurance and ensure works are completed to the required standards.
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and progress updates.
- Liaise with project management and client stakeholders to ensure effective communication throughout the project.
- Manage temporary works, plant, materials, and logistics as required.
- Support commissioning and project handover activities.

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on HV electrical infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrable experience managing HV cable installation, jointing, and termination works.
- Strong understanding of electrical network construction and safe systems of work.
- SMSTS qualification.
- CSCS Card (appropriate level).
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Requirements
- SPEN authorisations and/or previous experience working on SPEN projects.
- NRSWA Supervisor qualification.
- Temporary Works Coordinator training.
- National Grid, DNO, or utility sector experience.
- Relevant electrical or engineering qualifications.

Rate is negotiable depending on experience, freelance opportunity for 2/3 months. Start date mid July.
