Freelance Site Manager Required – Immediate Start

Location: Croydon
Project: Amazon Car Park Project / Groundworks
Contractor: Tier 1 Main Contractor
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 4-6 Weeks (Potential Extension)
Hours: 9:00am - 7:00pm
Weekend Work: Required
Rate: Competitive Day Rate (DOE)

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager for an immediate start on a high-profile Amazon project in Croydon. Working for a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, you will support the site-based Project Manager in the delivery of a busy car park construction and refurbishment package.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on Site Manager who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and coordinating multiple trades to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the Project Manager with the day-to-day running of the site.
• Managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
• Monitoring health & safety compliance and enforcing site procedures.
• Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings.
• Ensuring works are completed in line with programme requirements.
• Completing site records, inspections, and progress reports.
• Maintaining high standards of quality control and housekeeping.
• Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and the client team.
• Assisting with weekend working and out-of-hours site operations as required.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must hold all relevant Site Management qualifications, including:

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
• CSCS Black Managers Card
• First Aid at Work
• Proven experience managing construction projects for Tier 1 Contractors
• Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and site compliance
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to start immediately
• Willingness to work weekends and extended site hours when required
