Overview
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our team on the development in Oxford, a major residential scheme delivering over 500 new homes.
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing sections of large residential developments, ensuring work is completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your allocated area, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring the successful delivery of homes from groundwork through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of a designated phase or area of the development.
- Supervise all site activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to programme.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, labour and material deliveries.
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and NHBC standards.
- Carry out regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress and workmanship.
- Manage construction programmes and identify potential delays, implementing solutions where required.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
- Monitor productivity and ensure subcontractors achieve programme targets.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site.
- Manage snagging, inspections and handovers to achieve quality expectations.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, Senior Site Manager, Technical, Commercial and Customer Care teams.
- Complete site records, progress reports and health and safety documentation.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on residential housing developments.
- Experience delivering traditional build and timber frame housing projects.
- Good understanding of the full construction process, from groundworks through to final completion.
- Experience managing subcontractors across multiple trades.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and site management procedures.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver to programme.
Qualifications
- SMSTS
- CSCS Black Card (Manager)
- First Aid at Work
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management.
- Experience working on large-scale residential developments.
- Knowledge of NHBC Standards and Building Regulations.
- Experience managing mixed-tenure housing developments.
