A leading Civil Engineering contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of projects across a long-term water infrastructure framework covering Devon and Cornwall.
Working on schemes ranging from £50k to £2m, you'll oversee the successful delivery of projects, including pipelines, reservoirs, pumping stations, screens, runways and associated civil engineering works. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a proven background in the water utilities sector who enjoys managing multiple projects within a fast-paced framework environment.
The Role
As a Site Manager, you'll take responsibility for the safe, efficient and successful delivery of several live water infrastructure projects, ensuring programmes, budgets and quality standards are achieved while maintaining excellent client relationships throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of multiple clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Lead site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Coordinate programmes to achieve key milestones and client deadlines.
- Work closely with commercial teams to monitor project budgets, forecasts and overall performance with the NEC contract.
- Support pre-construction activities, including site surveys, buildability reviews and technical input.
- Liaise with local authorities, highways departments and statutory undertakers where required.
- Attend client meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and temporary works requirements.
- Prepare and review RAMS, site documentation and project records.
- Carry out regular site inspections, quality checks and safety audits.
- Monitor KPIs and SLAs while maintaining high standards of project delivery.
You'll be an experienced civil engineering Site Manager with a strong track record of delivering water utilities projects. Experience within the clean water or wastewater sector is essential, and you'll be confident managing multiple schemes while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and operational teams.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Essential experience delivering water utilities infrastructure projects, including clean water and/or wastewater schemes.
- Previous experience managing projects within a water framework environment.
- A strong background in civil engineering and utility infrastructure.
- Good knowledge of NEC contracts, ideally NEC4.
- A thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and temporary works.
- Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Strong commercial awareness and programme management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- An HNC, HND, NVQ or Degree in a construction-related discipline (or equivalent).
- SMSTS, CSCS, Streetworks and other relevant site management qualifications.
