We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in structural steel installation to oversee projects across the UK.


The successful candidate will be a fully competent Site Manager with proven experience managing primary structural steelwork installation on construction sites. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality and programme standards.



Key Responsibilities


  • Manage and supervise structural steel installation activities on site.

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations.

  • Coordinate steel erection teams, subcontractors, plant, materials, and deliveries.

  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

  • Monitor progress against programme and address any issues that may impact delivery.

  • Liaise with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, engineers, clients, and other site personnel.

  • Ensure all site activities comply with health & safety requirements and company procedures.

  • Conduct and participate in site meetings, briefings, toolbox talks, and inspections.

  • Monitor the quality of structural steel installation and ensure works meet the required standards.

  • Maintain accurate site records, reports, and relevant documentation.

  • Identify and resolve site issues promptly and effectively.

  • Ensure the site is maintained to a high standard of safety, organisation, and housekeeping.


Requirements


  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction or structural steel industry.

  • Strong, demonstrable experience with primary structural steelwork installation and erection.

  • Fully competent in managing structural steel installation on active construction sites.

  • Previous experience managing steel erection teams and subcontractors.

  • Strong understanding of construction site health & safety requirements.

  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under programme pressures.

  • Willingness to travel and work on projects UK wide.

  • Relevant site management qualifications/cards, such as SMSTS, CSCS, or equivalent, are desirable/required depending on project requirements.


Working Hours: Approx. 07:00am - 18:00pm (10-11hr shift)
