Site Manager in Manchester, Greater Manchester

Location: North West England
Salary: £55,000–£60,000 per annum DOE + Benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join an established main contractor delivering a range of construction projects across the North West.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong construction background who is confident managing subcontractors, coordinating site activities and delivering projects safely, on time and to a high standard.

The successful candidate will work on medium to large-scale projects across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, retail, refurbishment and new build.

• Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

• Manage subcontractors, site personnel, materials and resources.

• Coordinate construction activities and produce short-term programmes.

• Monitor progress, identify potential delays and report to the Project Manager.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, including CDM regulations.

• Manage site permits, temporary works procedures and relevant inspections.

• Monitor workmanship, manage quality inspections and oversee snagging through to completion.

• Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers and the wider project team.

• Work closely with commercial teams to manage variations and subcontractor requirements.

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry.

• Experience delivering commercial, education, healthcare, retail, refurbishment or new-build projects.

• Valid SMSTS, CSCS card and First Aid at Work qualification.

• Good knowledge of construction processes, health and safety legislation and temporary works procedures.

• Ability to manage subcontractors and deliver projects against programme targets.

• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.

• Relevant construction qualification.

• £55,000–£60,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
