We are currently working with a leading main contractor who are looking to strengthen their project team with an experienced Site Manager for a major new-build commercial office development in the London Bridge area.
The project is currently at an early stage, providing an excellent opportunity to join the team from the outset and play a key role in the successful delivery of a landmark £100m+ development.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of key structural works, with a particular focus on concrete slip-form construction and structural steel frame installation.
You will work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team to ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating structural works and specialist subcontractors.
- Overseeing concrete slip-form activities and associated structural works.
- Managing the installation and sequencing of the structural steel frame.
- Coordinating site activities, labour, materials and logistics.
- Monitoring progress against the programme and driving productivity.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction information.
- Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with RAMS and project requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality on site.
- Liaising with subcontractors, consultants and the wider project team.
- Identifying and resolving technical and programme issues.
- Providing regular progress updates to the project leadership team.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering or construction background and proven experience working on major new-build projects.
You should have:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager on major commercial or complex new-build projects.
- Experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor.
- Strong structural experience, ideally including concrete frame/slip-form and structural steel.
- A good understanding of construction sequencing, temporary works and lifting operations.
- The ability to manage specialist subcontractors and coordinate multiple interfaces.
- Strong technical and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
