Our client, Taylor Woodrow, a leading infrastructure and civil engineering specialist, is seeking a Site Manager to join a major embankment stabilisation project in Sonning, Reading, on the Great Western Main Line. This is a permanent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a significant infrastructure scheme valued at approximately £40 million.

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the overall programme and project delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards within a live operational environment. The project is expected to run for approximately 3 to 4 years, with an immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage short and long-term programme planning and delivery
• Oversee day-to-day site operations on the embankment stabilisation project
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance across the site
• Maintain all relevant health and safety documentation
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors to achieve programme objectives
• Support financial reporting and project performance monitoring
• Lead the self-delivery of the road construction package
• Liaise closely with Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and the Contracts Manager to ensure successful project delivery

Requirements

• Previous Site Management experience is essential
• Experience working on civil engineering, infrastructure, highway, or rail projects
• Proven experience managing subcontractors
• Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements on site
• Experience operating within a live operational environment
• Piling and drainage experience is beneficial
• Strong managerial experience on highways and/or rail projects
• SMSTS certification essential
• CSCS card essential
