The Company
Our client is an established North West based construction contractor who is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager on a temporary basis for a commercial refurbishment project in Edmonton area.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site, managing subcontractors, coordinating the works and ensuring the project progresses safely and in line with the construction programme.
The project involves the refurbishment of an existing service yard and commercial building, including re-roofing the building, stripping out the existing offices and creating new office accommodation along with associated internal refurbishment works.
Externally, the project will also include groundworks and the creation of new concrete areas within the existing service yard.
Due to the varied nature of the project, we are ideally looking for a Site Manager who is comfortable managing both internal refurbishment works and external groundworks.
- Day-to-day management of the construction site
- Coordinate and manage all subcontractors and trades
- Oversee the internal strip-out and refurbishment works
- Manage the roofing works and associated trades
- Oversee external groundworks and concrete works
- Manage the construction programme and sequencing of trades
- Coordinate materials, deliveries and site logistics
- Monitor progress and quality of works throughout the project
- Maintain accurate site records and daily progress reports
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety requirements
- Liaise with the Contracts Manager regarding progress and any issues on site
- Ensure the project remains on programme and is delivered to the required standard
About You
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a proven background in commercial refurbishment projects and experience managing both internal and external works.
Ideally, you will have previous experience overseeing groundworks and concrete works alongside internal refurbishment and finishing trades.
You must be confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the project, coordinating multiple subcontractors and driving the works forward safely and efficiently.
- Strong Site & Man Management Skills
- Previous commercial refurbishment experience
- Groundworks and concrete works experience
- Experience managing both internal and external works
- Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and trades
- Good understanding of construction programmes and sequencing
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong Health & Safety knowledge
- Self-motivation with energy and drive
- SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid At Work
