The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager or Site Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering a flagship residential scheme on behalf of Guernsey Housing Association.
The project will see the construction of 60+ high-quality homes, across two six-storey apartment buildings. Working alongside an experienced Project Manager, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of this prestigious development from pre-construction through to completion.

The Role
As Assistant / Site Manager, you'll support the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You'll coordinate subcontractors, monitor programme progress and help maintain a productive and compliant site environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day running of a live construction site.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.
- Carry out quality inspections and snagging throughout the build.
- Support the implementation of health & safety procedures and site compliance.
- Monitor progress against programme and report any delays or issues.
- Assist with site logistics, deliveries and material management.
- Attend site meetings and maintain accurate site records.
- Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, consultants and the client team.
- Help drive high standards of workmanship from groundwork through to final handover.
About You
- Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Manager working for a main contractor.
- Residential new build experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and sequencing.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive, motivated and eager to develop into a Site Manager.
- Able to manage multiple subcontractors and work effectively within a project team.
Essential Qualifications
- SSSTS or SMSTS.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work.
