Are you an experienced Site Manager, Facilities Professional, Maintenance Engineer or Construction professional looking for a varied role where you can take ownership of the day-to-day running of a school site?

Would you like to join an established education trust where you will have the autonomy to manage the site, whilst having the support of an experienced Estates and Compliance team?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established School as a Site Manager, taking responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance, compliance, health & safety and general upkeep of the school site.

You'll be the key person responsible for ensuring the school remains a safe, secure and welcoming environment for pupils and staff, with a dedicated office and workshop on site. Although you'll be the sole site team member at the academy, you'll have support from the Trust's Compliance Manager and Estates Manager, whilst reporting directly to the Headteacher.

This role would suit a Site Manager, Caretaker, Facilities Assistant, Maintenance professional, Handyperson or Construction professional looking for a stable, long-term position within the education sector.

The Role

Manage the day-to-day running and upkeep of the school site.
Carry out general maintenance, repairs, decorating and building-related tasks.
Ensure the school site remains safe, secure and well maintained.
Take responsibility for site compliance, health & safety and general site requirements.
Manage your own workload and prioritise maintenance tasks effectively.
Report directly to the Headteacher.
Receive support from the Trust's Compliance Manager and Estates Manager.
Respond to security call-outs where required, including intruder and fire alarm activations.
Occasional weekend and out-of-hours call-outs, paid as overtime.
Maintain a safe and positive environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Monday-Friday, 9:30am-6:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
Interviews are expected to take place during August or September, depending on management availability.

The Person

Previous experience in site maintenance, facilities, construction, general building, decorating or repairs.
School or education sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Candidates from a construction, maintenance or general building background will be considered.
Experience with health & safety and compliance.
IOSH trained, either already obtained or working towards the qualification.
MiDAS trained would be advantageous.
Able to turn their hand to a variety of practical tasks.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own time and workload.
Reliable, adaptable and proactive approach to work.
Motivated by creating a safe and positive environment for pupils and staff.
Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
