Site Manager (Construction & Commercial Projects)
Location: North-East England
Salary: £48,000 – £57,000 per annum (subject to experience)
Working hours: Full-Time
Role Overview
We are seeking a number of experienced and highly motivated Site Managers to oversee the delivery of construction and commercial projects across the North-East of England. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site operations across construction and commercial projects
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
- Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Monitor project progress against programme schedules and report on milestones
- Maintain high standards of quality control and ensure works meet specifications
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication
- Identify and resolve issues that may impact project delivery
- Ensure materials, plant, and labour are effectively utilised
- Carry out regular site inspections and meetings to monitor progress
- Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports and health & safety documentation
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction and/or commercial projects
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and health & safety regulations
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification (essential)
- CSCS card (Black or equivalent)
- First Aid at Work certification (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on a variety of commercial construction projects
- Knowledge of project planning software and reporting tools
- Background with main contractors or specialist subcontractors
