The Company

This main contractor delivers Design & Build contracts for a wide range of clients nationwide and is primarily focused on envelope refurbishments. They are known for delivering high-quality projects, building strong client relationships, and providing professional leadership, which continues to drive the business in the right direction.

The Role

As a Roaming Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing PCSA investigation activities on projects that are currently in pre-construction across the South, and, where required, London. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working independently to visit projects where construction has not yet commenced.
  • Conducting environmental site assessments.
  • Carrying out utility surveys.
  • Undertaking site condition assessments.
  • Completing traffic and access assessments.
  • Conducting health and safety assessments to support the production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Running DABs.
  • Supervising contractors carrying out working-at-height activities (MEWP operations and scaffold temporary works), to investigate building fabric and identify existing services.
  • QA inspections using Fieldview.

What Are They Looking For

  • A construction professional with experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor.
  • Previous experience carrying out site investigations would be a significant advantage.
  • A proven track record working for a Main or Principal Contractor.
  • Someone who is comfortable working independently.
  • Willingness to travel extensively. You could be working in Sussex one day and Dorset, or even further afield, the next.
  • Up-to-date CITB qualifications and a valid First Aid at Work certificate.
  • A personable individual who enjoys engaging with clients and members of the public.
