Site Manager – Civil Engineering

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established, family-owned construction business delivering major civil engineering and groundworks projects across the South West and South Wales.

With over 40 years of experience, our client has built a reputation for delivering high-quality construction, earthworks, infrastructure and demolition projects for both public and private sector clients. The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of civil engineering projects across the Bristol and Newport region, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all on-site operations from mobilisation through to completion.
  • Lead and motivate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
  • Coordinate plant, labour and materials to achieve programme objectives.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, engineers and stakeholders.
  • Complete site documentation including RAMS, permits, inspections and progress reports.
  • Monitor project performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to specification and company standards.

About You

You will be an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in civil engineering or groundworks and be confident managing projects independently.

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, highways, reinforced concrete or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and site activities.
  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS Management Card.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Temporary Works Coordinator.
  • NRSWA Supervisor.
  • CPCS Appointed Person or relevant plant knowledge.
