About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, proactive and highly organised School Site Manager to join our successful and welcoming primary school in Birmingham from September 2026.
Our school is a vibrant and inclusive two-form entry primary school that prides itself on providing a safe, caring and inspiring environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Following our most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2026, the school achieved the expected standard in all areas, reflecting the dedication of our staff team and the positive culture that supports teaching and learning.
As School Site Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school premises, grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard, providing a safe and secure environment for our entire school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance and security of the school site and grounds.
- Coordinate planned preventative maintenance, repairs and capital improvement projects.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers and external agencies to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, fire safety and statutory regulations.
- Undertake and monitor site inspections, risk assessments and compliance checks.
- Manage site budgets and maintain accurate records relating to premises and facilities management.
- Line manage and support the Cleaning Team, ensuring high standards of cleanliness across the school.
- Coordinate training and development opportunities for premises staff.
- Support school events and activities where site management assistance is required.
- Act as a key holder and respond to site emergencies when necessary.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience in a site management, facilities management or premises management role.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and building compliance requirements.
- Experience managing contractors and supervising staff.
- Strong practical maintenance and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- A flexible and professional approach to supporting the needs of the school.
