Highways Site Supervisor

Location: East Sussex
Start: September
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8.5 hours per day

The Role

We are recruiting for experienced Highways Site Supervisors to support a major highways improvement programme in East Sussex.

The role will involve supervising site teams and subcontractors, coordinating daily works and ensuring projects are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise site teams, operatives and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and traffic management.
  • Set teams to work safely in line with RAMS and permits.
  • Monitor progress and maintain daily site records.
  • Ensure works meet drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
  • Manage site issues and escalate any delays or risks.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Previous Highways Site Supervisor experience.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • Relevant CSCS card.
  • NRSWA Supervisor accreditation where applicable.
  • Experience with RAMS, permits and site inspections.
  • Strong highways/civils background, including surfacing, drainage, kerbing or reinstatement.
  • Good understanding of health & safety within a live highway environment.
