Our client is looking for a passionate Repairs & Maintenance Skills Trainer to deliver high-quality training and support to apprentices across multi-trade disciplines. Whether you're an experienced trainer or an industry professional looking to move into teaching, they will support your development, including funding a Level 5 Learning & Skills Apprenticeship if required.
About the Role
The Repairs & Maintenance Skills Trainer will design and deliver engaging training in the classroom, online and in the workplace, helping apprentices develop the skills and knowledge needed to achieve their qualifications and succeed in their careers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality teaching across Level 2 multi-trades (carpentry, plumbing, plastering and decorating).
- Supporting apprentices through coaching, assessment and individual learning plans.
- Monitoring learner progress, attendance and achievement, identifying and supporting learners at risk.
- Preparing learners for End Point Assessment (EPA).
- Developing and reviewing curriculum and learning resources.
- Working with colleagues and employers to ensure an outstanding learner experience.
- Maintaining accurate records and meeting awarding body, Ofsted, safeguarding and compliance requirements.
About You
You'll be passionate about developing others and committed to delivering an excellent learning experience.
You'll have:
- Experience in multi-trades or repairs and maintenance, with the ability to teach to Level 2 standard.
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to complete a funded Level 5 Learning & Skills Apprenticeship.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve).
- Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and learner support.
- Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and continuous professional development.
An enhanced DBS check is required.
