Slitter Operator - Digital & Flexographic Print

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Slitter Operator to join a busy manufacturing and print production environment.

The successful candidate will have experience operating industrial slitting machinery, ideally within a digital and/or flexographic print environment. You will be responsible for accurately slitting and finishing printed materials to customer and production specifications, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with good mechanical knowledge, strong attention to detail and experience working with industrial machinery.



Key Responsibilities

  • Operate slitting and finishing machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Set up machines to achieve specified widths, lengths and production requirements.
  • Monitor production runs and make adjustments where necessary.
  • Carry out quality checks before, during and after the slitting process.
  • Identify and resolve basic machine and production issues.
  • Perform routine cleaning, maintenance and lubrication of machinery.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely during machine setup and maintenance.
  • Fabricate or assemble components where required.
  • Handle and move rolls and other production materials safely.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality standards.
  • Keep the production area clean, organised and compliant with health and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the production team to meet deadlines and maintain output.


About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience operating slitting machinery, preferably within a print or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with digital print and/or flexographic print would be highly advantageous.
  • Good mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot basic machinery issues.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Good understanding of production and quality control processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • The ability to work safely when handling heavy materials.
  • A reliable, practical and hands-on approach to work.
  • The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
  • Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or print production environment would be advantageous.
