Are you an experienced Small Works Manager, Electrical Project Manager or Buyer looking for a role where you can take real ownership of projects, procurement and client relationships?
I'm working with a well-established electrical and building services contractor looking to appoint a Small Works Manager & Buyer to join their team.

You'll be working closely with clients, engineers and suppliers, making sure works are properly planned, materials are where they need to be, and projects are delivered to a high standard.
The Role
As the Small Works Manager & Buyer, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of smaller electrical works while overseeing procurement for both small works and larger projects.

- Acting as the main point of contact for small works clients
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating engineers and subcontractors
- Pricing small works, remedial works, EICRs and electrical installations
- Carrying out site surveys where required and preparing competitive quotations
- Monitoring engineer performance and ensuring works are completed to a high standard
- Managing reactive maintenance requirements and daytime emergency callouts
- Ensuring works meet health & safety and NICEIC requirements
- Managing job costs, claims and invoicing
- Coordinating materials and equipment across small works and main projects
- Obtaining competitive prices from wholesalers and suppliers
- Raising purchase orders and ensuring materials arrive on time
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Negotiating pricing and identifying new suppliers
- Arranging plant, access equipment, tool repairs and calibration
- Supporting the wider projects team with procurement and reactive requirements
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and technically strong, with the confidence to manage clients, engineers and suppliers while keeping multiple jobs moving.
- Experience within an electrical, construction or building services environment
- Previous experience managing small works, projects, maintenance or procurement
- Strong understanding of electrical works and construction environments
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Good commercial awareness and experience with pricing or estimating
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Full UK Driving Licence
- NICEIC Qualifying Manager status or C&G 2391 would be advantageous, although not essential.
The successful Small Works Manager & Buyer will be on a salary up to £70,000, depending on experience + company vehicle/car allowance + 24 days holiday + bank holidays + career progression + package.
If you're looking for a role where you're not just pushing paperwork, but actually have ownership of projects, clients, engineers and procurement, this could be a great next move.
