SMALL WORKS MANAGER
Location: London
Salary: £45k - £55k DOE
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Start: Immediate
DK Recruitment are currently working with an established construction business who are looking for an experienced Small Works Manager to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong construction background who enjoys managing projects from inception through to completion, while working closely with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
The Role
As Small Works Manager, you will be responsible for managing a variety of small-scale construction, refurbishment and fit-out projects, typically up to £150k in value.
You will oversee multiple projects at different stages, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, to a high standard and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver multiple small works, refurbishment and fit-out projects
- Coordinate and supervise site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
- Develop project plans, programmes, schedules and cost estimates
- Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates
- Liaise with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
- Coordinate procurement of materials and resources
- Identify potential risks, delays and issues and put solutions in place
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant Health & Safety requirements
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RAMS, permits and handover documentation
- Provide holiday cover for the Project Manager and Site Managers when required
- Support the wider project team to ensure successful project delivery
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within the construction industry
- At least 2 years' relevant construction experience
- Experience managing small works, refurbishment or fit-out projects
- A good understanding of project logistics and delivery
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong IT and Microsoft Office skills
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- A proactive approach and strong team-working skills
- A relevant construction qualification would be advantageous
