Adults Social Worker – Walsall
Location: Walsall Civic Centre, West Midlands
Pay Rate: £28.40 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Locum
Hours: 5 days per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid – generally 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home
Office Days: Monday & Wednesday
Driving Licence: Required
Experience: Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience (PQE)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Adults Social Worker to join a busy adult social care team based at Walsall Civic Centre.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, strengths-based and person-centred social work, supporting adults to achieve positive outcomes while promoting independence, choice and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities-
Complete strengths-based and person-centred Care Act needs assessments.

Undertake Care Act reviews and reassessments in line with statutory requirements.

Complete Safeguarding Enquiries and contribute to safeguarding planning and interventions.

Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments as part of the assessment and review process.

Develop person-centred care and support plans based on identified needs, strengths and desired outcomes.

Work collaboratively with adults, families, carers and partner agencies.

Promote independence, choice, control and least restrictive approaches.

Identify and utilise community and informal support networks where appropriate.

Maintain accurate and timely case records in accordance with legislation, policy and professional standards.

Manage a caseload effectively, prioritising cases according to risk and need.

Work within the principles of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding procedures.

Qualified Social Worker with current professional registration.

Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience (PQE).

Recent experience working within Adult Social Care.

Strong experience completing Care Act needs assessments and reviews.

Experience undertaking Safeguarding Enquiries.

Experience completing Mental Capacity Assessments.

Strong understanding of strengths-based and person-centred practice.

Ability to manage a complex caseload and work independently.

Excellent communication, assessment and report-writing skills.

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Ability to work 5 days per week.
The standard working arrangement is:

Monday – Office

Tuesday – Working from home

Wednesday – Office

Thursday – Working from home

Friday – Working from home
The successful candidate may occasionally be required to attend the office on other days for meetings or on an ad hoc basis, depending on service requirements.
Important Application RequirementThe Adults MOU form must be completed and submitted with the CV.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ PQE and this information must be included on the Adults MOU form.
CVs submitted without the completed Adults MOU form and required PQE information will be rejected.
