Software Developer (Java & AWS Full Stack)

Rate: Up to £470 per day
Location: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite in Manchester or Leeds or Newcastle)
Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Software Developer with strong Java and AWS expertise to join a large-scale digital delivery programme building modern cloud-native applications and services.

Working within Agile teams, you'll be involved in the full software development lifecycle, developing scalable back-end services, APIs, and user-facing applications while leveraging AWS cloud technologies and modern engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications and microservices.
• Build and support cloud-native solutions using AWS.
• Develop back-end services using Java.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs and API Gateway solutions.
• Develop responsive front-end applications using HTML5 and modern web technologies.
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Support production environments and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with Java development.
• Experience developing applications within AWS cloud environments.
• Full-stack development experience.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5 and web application development.
• Experience designing and developing APIs and working with API Gateway technologies.
• Experience with software testing and quality engineering practices.
• Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering practices.
• Active SC Clearance.

• SQL and database development
• Git and version control systems
• DevOps and Infrastructure as Code experience
