Solar Electrician

Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading commercial and industrial renewable energy provider, specialising in the design, installation and maintenance of solar PV and clean energy solutions for businesses across Ireland, to recruit an experienced Solar Electrician for the electrical installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems across multiple sites.

The Solar Electrician role comes with a salary up to €75,000 depending on experience, plus vehicle and an excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties of the Solar Electrician role

Reporting to the Project Manager you will:

• Complete the electrical installation of commercial and industrial solar PV systems across multiple project sites.
• Install and connect AC electrical equipment, including inverters, switchgear and grid connection infrastructure.
• Interpret electrical drawings, layouts and technical documentation to ensure accurate installation.
• Carry out electrical testing, inspection and commissioning of completed systems.
• Complete certification and sign off electrical installations in line with current regulations.
• Work closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate installation records and commissioning documentation.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults during installation and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety and quality standards.
• Provide guidance and support to junior electricians and apprentices where required.
• Travel to sites across Ireland, with occasional overnight stays where necessary.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Fully qualified Electrician with valid Safe Electric registration.
• At least five years' post-qualification electrical experience.
• Previous experience installing and commissioning commercial or industrial solar PV systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing, inspection and certification procedures
• Familiarity with inverters, grid connections and metering equipment.
• Full clean driving license.
