The Serious & Catastrophic Injury team specialises in high value, complex personal injury litigation involving life changing injuries. Work includes traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, severe orthopaedic trauma, chronic pain conditions, and fatal accident claims arising from road traffic accidents, employers liability, and public liability matters.
You will join a highly experienced and supportive team working alongside senior lawyers, counsel, medical experts, case managers, and rehabilitation professionals.
This is a specialist practice area offering exposure to nationally significant litigation work and the opportunity to develop advanced technical expertise in catastrophic injury claims.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and progress a caseload of high value catastrophic and complex injury claims from instruction through to resolution
- Handle litigated matters, including proceedings in the High Court
- Draft detailed pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss, and instructions to experts
- Coordinate expert evidence across multiple medical and technical disciplines
- Develop litigation strategy and support negotiations and settlement discussions
- Attend conferences with counsel and experts, including mediation and settlement meetings
- Provide high quality, empathetic client care supporting clients and families through rehabilitation pathways
- Work closely with senior lawyers on complex matters
- Support supervision of junior or non qualified team members where appropriate
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this Solicitor / Associate – Catastrophic Injury role, you will need:
- Qualified Solicitor (0–6 years PQE indicative)
- Experience in personal injury litigation, ideally high value or complex cases
- Strong understanding of the Serious Injury Guide, Rehabilitation Code, and CPR
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage a complex and varied caseload
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Clear and confident communication skills
