Sytner

The Role

Sytner Group is looking for a proactive, commercially focused Website Manager to own and develop one of the UK's largest automotive retail websites.

Working within Group Marketing, you'll work closely with Business Systems, Software Engineering and external partners to continually improve our digital platforms. This isn't a software engineering role, but you must be technically minded, comfortable discussing modern web technologies and able to translate business requirements into successful digital solutions.

You'll take ownership of the website roadmap, customer experience, content management and digital performance, ensuring our website continues to deliver measurable value to both our customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day management and performance of the Sytner website.
  • Manage website content using a Headless CMS, preferably Storyblok.
  • Deliver marketing campaigns, landing pages and website content updates.
  • Work closely with Business Systems to define, prioritise and deliver new website functionality.
  • Manage the website roadmap and coordinate releases.
  • Monitor website performance, SEO, analytics and customer journeys.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, engagement and conversion.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new functionality.
  • Manage relationships with third-party suppliers and digital partners.
  • Ensure website content is accurate, engaging and aligned with brand standards.
  • Champion continuous improvement through data, customer insight and innovation.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience managing a large, customer-facing commercial website.
  • Experience using a Headless CMS, preferably Storyblok.
  • Technically minded with a good understanding of APIs, integrations and modern website architecture.
  • Experience working closely with Business Systems and Software Engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of website analytics, SEO and digital best practice.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Commercially focused with the ability to prioritise work that delivers measurable business value.

Desirable

  • Experience within Automotive Retail or a multi-site retail business.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager and modern digital marketing platforms.

Personal Attributes

We're looking for someone who:

  • Takes ownership and is proactive.
  • Brings high energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Works at pace, removes obstacles and enables delivery rather than creating unnecessary process or delays.
  • Builds strong relationships across Marketing, Business Systems and the wider business.
  • Is commercially minded and customer focused.
  • Is technically confident and comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Enjoys solving problems and driving continuous improvement.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Is curious, embraces innovation and is always looking for better ways of working.

Working Pattern

This is a highly collaborative role that requires regular engagement with colleagues across the business.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Work from Penman Way and/or within the business a minimum of four days per week.
  • Build strong relationships with dealership teams and key stakeholders.
  • Spend time in the business to understand customer journeys and identify opportunities to improve the digital experience.
  • Act as the link between Marketing, Business Systems to ensure successful delivery of website improvements.

Success Measures

  • A high-performing website that delivers an exceptional customer experience.
  • Successful delivery of website enhancements and new functionality.
  • Increased website engagement, lead generation and conversion.
