Sous Chef

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef to join a busy and professional kitchen team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, motivated and experienced chef looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in the day-to-day running of a kitchen.

The Role of Sous Chef

Working alongside the Head Chef, you will help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen while maintaining consistently high standards of food quality, hygiene and service.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Leading, motivating and supporting the wider kitchen team
• Maintaining high standards of food preparation, presentation and quality
• Ensuring excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained
• Helping to organise kitchen operations and manage service effectively
• Supporting the team during busy periods and ensuring a consistent standard of service

Working Hours for the Sous Chef

The role is based on 42.5 hours per week, with a mixture of shifts including:

• 8:00am–5:00pm
• 9:00am–6:00pm
• Two Friday evening shifts per month, 11:00am–8:00pm
• Alternate weekends

About You as the Sous Chef

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior chef position
• Is confident working in a busy kitchen environment
• Has strong leadership and organisational skills
• Is reliable, professional and motivated
• Takes pride in delivering high-quality food
• Can support and motivate a team
• Has a strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen standards
