Sous Chef – 4 Star Countryside Hotel

Location: Skelmersdale
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 + Tips
Hours: 40–45 hours per week | 5 days over 7

Perfect Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a well-established 4-star countryside hotel in Skelmersdale.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie looking to step up to join a professional, well-run kitchen environment offering a great work-life balance compared to many hospitality roles.

The hotel operates across restaurant dining, weddings, conferences, corporate events and private functions, delivering fresh, consistent food to a high standard.

The Role:

As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to support the daily running of the kitchen, including:

  • Assisting with the smooth operation of all kitchen services
  • Preparing and delivering high-quality dishes across restaurant and event services
  • Supporting weddings, conferences, banqueting and private functions
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene, safety and cleanliness standards
  • Managing your section confidently and supporting junior team members
  • Assisting with stock control, ordering, prep planning and kitchen organisation
  • Ensuring consistency and quality throughout every service

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a motivated and reliable chef with:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie
  • Experience within a hotel, restaurant, banqueting or fresh food environment
  • A passion for producing quality food and maintaining standards
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A positive attitude and willingness to be part of a close-knit team
